Thermal efficiency / EPC models

I maintain models of the thermal efficiency of UK residential properties. Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are available for the majority of UK residential properties. Using the physics model behind the EPC scheme, which is also publicly available, I can model the impact of a range of scenarios on individual UK properties, portfolios of properties or the entire residential property stock. These scenarios include the cost of improving thermal efficiency to a target level; the cost of reducing carbon emissions; and of meeting the UK's Net Zero targets.

Use cases

Clients have used these models for a number of purposes, including assessing retrofit costs and benefits for a region of the UK and assessing the risks to underwriting new Buy-to-Let mortgages.
